Yet, some people cannot contain their joy and excitement and go overboard, such as this man from Sultanganj village in Bhagalpur, Bihar, who drank so much wine to celebrate his wedding that he forgot to attend it.

The bride and her family waited for him at the venue, but he never arrived. After the groom regained consciousness, he went to the bride’s residence, but she refused to marry. She stated that she could not spend her life with a man who is unaware of his obligations. Her family also asked that the groom’s family reimburse them for the money spent on wedding preparations.

There were some nasty scenes when the bride’s family kidnaps some of the groom’s relatives. As a result, the police were summoned, who came to the scene and managed to calm things down.
