At the Benchmark Litigation Annual Awards Banquet, Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez received numerous awards for their effective representation of Johnny Depp in his defamation trial against his ex-wife and Amber Heard.
Depp nearly completely prevailed in a defamation lawsuit against Heard last year, winning more than $10 million in damages.
Chew and Vasquez reportedly got the Impact Case Award.
The awards ceremony took place in New York City on March 15. These honors “recognize the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their exemplary work over the past twelve months,” according to Benchmark Litigation.
In his $50 million lawsuit against Heard, Depp claimed that she had defamed him by referring to herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse” in a newspaper opinion piece.
