- LHC bars police from taking action until IHC decision

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) – taking up the case of police brutality at Zaman Park in an attempt to arrest Imran Khan – instructed the police to stay at a distance.
The petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the violence of police on PTI workers was heard in LHC.
Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman appeared before the court on the court order meanwhile Advocate General Punjab Shan Gill was also present.
IG Punjab maintained before the court that the police team was beaten up by the PTI workers and vehicles was burnt. “Many of our men were injured at Zaman Park.”
The court remarked that till the decision of the Islamabad High Court comes, all actions must be stopped.
“The court will hear the case tomorrow.”
The court also underscored that the protection of the lives of citizens is important adding that if they want to keep police force there then it should be retained at a distance.
“As the matter is being heard in the Islamabad High Court, the hearing is adjourned till tomorrow,” it added.
