Since Saim Sadiq’s Joyland was selected as the official submission, the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, have captured Pakistan’s attention as the most eagerly awaited, acclaimed, and prized award ceremony in the cinema.

Even if Sadiq’s film didn’t make the final cut for nominations, other Pakistanis have nonetheless excelled and brought honour to their country. Malala Yousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, drew notice with her handmade dress and is currently the talk of the fashion world.

Now, why would Yousafzai, an advocate for education, attend the greatest Hollywood event? as a result of the 25-year-foray old’s into filmmaking and the nomination of her film for Best Documentary Short Film. A former US Marine goes to war and is sent to Iraq and Afghanistan in the 29-minute movie Stranger At The Gate.

She made her Oscar debut wearing a stunning Ralph Lauren gown covered in silver sequins. With an attached headscarf, Yousafzai gave the handmade haute-couture a desi touch. Yousafzai’s dress had long sleeves and a ruched accent on one side of the waist, which was just what a lady needed. But what really stood out were her accessories.

Platinum pendant earrings that once belonged to and were worn by Queen Soraya Tarzi in the 1930s were chosen by Yousafzai. She fought tirelessly to educate and liberate Afghan women as the country’s minister of education and a champion of change. She was wearing a gorgeous antique carved emerald and diamond band that was expertly crafted in India and Green for Pakistan, as well as a 19th-century navette diamond ring.

She enhanced her appearance with a light red lip and minimum makeup. Everyone gasped in admiration as they passed the activist wearing a beautiful dress on the champagne red carpet.

Asser Malik, Yousafzai’s husband, dressed to match his lovely wife by donning a dark suit, a white shirt, a bow tie, and black shoes.

Malik, who was receiving the greatest husband award, clutched his stunning wife’s dress to prevent her from falling.

Malala stated on Instagram that she wants the theme of her short film Stranger At The Gate to be represented by her clothing.

“It was all a dream. I wanted my dress to represent the message of our film @strangeratthegate and embody hope. Thank you so much to the brilliant team that helped bring my vision to life. I was proud to represent this amazing documentary with the director @jrseftel, producer Conall Jones and the film’s inspiring subjects Bibi and Mac. And, as always, I was delighted to spend the night with my husband @asser.malik, looking handsome as ever in his tux,” she wrote.
