In High Ercall, Telford, The Moor Town, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was summoned on Saturday at 06:03 GMT.
The neighboring property’s first story was damaged, and one semi-detached house was completely on fire.
The agency reported that the woman‘s relatives had been contacted by West Mercia Police, and that efforts were being made to ascertain the fire’s cause.
Chief fire officer Simon Hardiman said: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts turn to family and friends at this difficult time”.
