I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson was co-created by Zach Kanin, a producer for Saturday Night Live, and Detroiters star Robinson.

The comedy series, which consists of six episodes, pokes fun at everyday occurrences.

Robinson and Kanin are the writers of the 16–18 minute length episodes of the series.

It is produced by The Lonely Island, a business founded by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. Alex Bach and Daniel Powell, who manages Irony Point, are also responsible for producing Inside Amy Schumer and The Break with Michelle Wolf.

The presenter also received an Emmy in 2022 for Best Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. The sitcom won WGA Awards for Comedy/Variety- Sketch Series in 2020 and 2022.
