PSL 2023: Tim David, the flamboyant batsman for Multan Sultans, has stated that he enjoys hitting sixes and is looking forward to scoring significant runs in the eighth PSL season.
The Australian cricketer told media that he has high expectations for himself and wants to help his team as much as possible before Sultan’s match against Islamabad United in Rawalpindi.
Hours after his media interview, David hit five sixes on his way to a 60-run innings off of 27 balls.
“I set high standards for myself. I simply want to go out there and help the team win. I enjoy making sixes and hanging out in the middle. Therefore, I’m hoping to get some runs. Lastly, just enjoy yourself greatly outside “said he.
“Obviously, I want to win the competition. We finished second last year, and losing the final is extremely disappointing, but that is difficult to control. I want to perform well. I really want to win this tournament “said the brash batter.
Lahore Qalandars introduced Tim David to the PSL for the first time during the COVID-hit 2021 season of the league for the Abu Dhabi leg of the competition. His flamboyance with the Qalandars caught everyone’s attention, and he quickly became one of the most sought-after players in franchise cricket.
“PSL is fantastic. It’s extremely difficult for me. It was my first franchise tournament, and I returned last year and did well. I knew I was playing really good cricket because it’s difficult to come here as an overseas batsman and do well against spin.
“Playing for Lahore Qalandars that second half of the season, that was my first chance. It was thrilling to have the opportunity to play first to try to discover my game and then return. “I always had such a good time, (PSL) plays a massive role for me, figuring out how I want to play the game, being challenged by really high quality players and figuring out different ways to try and get better, so massive part,” he said of PSL’s role in his professional development.
The local PSL players, he continued, are fiercely competitive, and playing in the PSL as an international player is always a great test.
