Amitabh Bachchan claimed that he is recuperating at home after suffering an injury while filming a movie in southern India.
The 80-year-old Bollywood icon said on his blog Sunday night that he hurt his ribs while filming the science fiction movie “Project K” in Hyderabad. It will be released in 2024 and is being produced in Hindi and Telugu.
Bachchan claimed to have a torn muscle and broken rib cartilage. He described the injury as “painful,” and before taking a flight back to Mumbai, he saw a doctor. The doctor urged him to relax.
“I shall be unable to meet the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening, so do not come,” the actor said to fans who often gather outside his home in Mumbai. “All else is well,” he wrote.
He stated that until he recovers, work on the movie has been put on hold.
He had previously experienced set injuries. He was proclaimed “clinically dead” after suffering a catastrophic injury in an accident in 1983 while filming a fight scene for “Coolie.” India’s citizens prayed in public for days on end. After eventually getting better, he finished the movie.
