Will Jacks, an all-rounder for England, will not be able to play in the remaining games of the tour to Bangladesh due to a left thigh injury. Jacks participated in the first two ODIs of the trip and made his ODI debut.
“Will Jacks has been ruled out of the remainder of the tour of Bangladesh after suffering a left thigh injury. Jacks will fly home in the next 48 hours to begin his recovery,” said a social media post from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Jacks arrived in Bangladesh to take the place of the hurt Tom Abell. Before Jacks sustained a thigh injury, he contributed 27 runs and a wicket to England’s unstoppable advantage in the two ODIS. In the Indian Premier League’s 2023 season, Jacks is anticipated to be available to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore (IPL).
Jacks played in the Test series against Pakistan in December after making his T20I debut for England against same team in September of last year. Jacks made an impression during his Test debut in Rawalpindi on a fairly flat field, picking 6/161 in the first innings. Later, England would triumph by a score of 74 runs.
He joined the white-ball squad for the tour of Bangladesh and was a member of the Test team that played New Zealand. There is presently no Jacks replacement since England leads the three-match ODI series 2-0.
Three T20Is on the tour will be played after the third ODI, which will take place on March 6. The only visiting team to win an ODI series in Bangladesh since 2015 was England, the T20I and ODI World Cup champions.
