Jake Gyllenhaal actor recently stepped onstage at a UFC event held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he flaunted his new physique while filming a scene for his upcoming film, Road House, which is a remake of the same-titled 1989 Patrick Swayze thriller.
In a videotape of the incident that was posted online, Gyllenhaal’s character can be seen walking onto the stage to try to excite the audience as he enters the stadium for a weigh-in. As he walks onto the scale, he removes a sweatshirt bearing the “UFC” emblem and flashes his muscles.
“Official weight: 184 and a half for the challenger, Elwood Dalton,” an announcer says. Gyllenhaal then flexes his muscles and poses as cheers erupt from the crowd, before he shakes hands with UFC president Dana White.
The actor portraying Dalton’s opponent Jack Harris, MMA world champion Jay Hieron, then goes up to the scales and declares himself to be 185 pounds. Before Gyllenhaal dramatically slaps Hieron, 46, on stage, he and Gyllenhaal can be seen arguing.
On stage, the two continue to act out their rivalry. Gyllenhaal once acted out to an interviewer, saying, “I can hardly believe I put in six weeks of preparation to face this piece of s—-. Give me the belt right away. Please, motherf—-. Let us leave.”
Conor McGregor, a UFC fighter, informed the arena’s crowd a few minutes beforehand that the scene would be captured for the movie. The background poster was replaced to reflect that as he introduced the scene.
