Lily Collins, who played Emily in Emily in Paris, recently admitted she enjoys browsing Instagram accounts dedicated to home design. The 33-year-old actress revealed that the latest “Instagram rabbithole” she fell down was “Interior design.” She is the daughter of musician Phil Collins and his second wife.
The actress stated, “Looking at lights and chairs because we are redecorating a place right now,” in an interview with Glamour. So you begin selecting these wonderful homes, and you find yourself examining the tile, wall, and carpeting colors.
“It is strange because when I was younger, my mother would constantly talk about interior design while I was more interested in clothes, pop music, and other things. A day will come when you will be more interested in interior design, antiques, and architecture, she says. “No, I am not,” I said. And right now, that is exactly what I want to buy with my money.”
Lily has already admitted that her Emily in Paris character’s “boldness” in the well-liked Netflix series served as inspiration. “I believe Emily’s confidence in her decisions and her willingness to switch things up has rubbed off on me.”
“I never had a fear of fashion growing up because I always enjoyed it, but I just did not always think it would look well on me. Emily urges me to do this more often, to sprinkle in those subtle influences here and there.”
