RAWALPINDI: A terrorist was killed as security forces conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District.
During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Resultantly, one terrorist was killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist.
The military press wing said the killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
It added that locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.
On February 27, two soldiers were martyred during the exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan.
Security forces carried out an operation and killed two terrorists while two others were detained. A large number of arms and ammunition were also recovered their possession.
Sepoy Imranullah, aged 25, and Sepoy Afzal Khan, aged 21, were martyred during a shooting encounter with terrorists. The ISPR said Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate terrorists.
