- Kyle Richards sheds light on her friendship with Lisa Rinna.
- Richards acknowledged the apparent rift Rinna created between her & Kathy Hilton.
- Rinna wouldn’t be appearing in the upcoming season.
The reason that Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna aren’t really close these days is her responsibility.
On Wednesday during an Amazon Live video chat, The Original “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 54, gave an update on her friendship with Rinna, 59, who left the Bravo reality series in January.
“Before, we ran into some problems. Richards acknowledged the apparent rift Rinna created between her and her older half-sister, Kathy Hilton, when Season 12 filming began. “Clearly, you know that,” Richards remarked.
The “Halloween Ends” actress continued, “And I texted her when I found out she wasn’t coming back and, you know, like I said, regrettably, we had that issue. We’ll overcome all that, though.
Richards continued by saying she was “ok” with the current state of her and Rinna’s relationship.
She continued, complimenting her ex-castmate, “I’m simply moving on from everything and I had to put all that behind me, honestly. “She contributed greatly to the show, and we will miss her.”
When Rinna announced earlier this year that she would be leaving “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after eight seasons, fans were startled.
In a statement to People on Jan. 5, she said, “This is the longest position I have had in my 35-year career. And I want to thank everyone at Bravo and everyone who worked on the series.
The choice was made when Rinna’s highly tense Season 12 contract, in which she frequently sparred with 63-year-old “cast buddy” Hilton, came to an end.
Rinna, who joined the program in Season 5 of 2014, made headlines when she claimed that Hilton had a “psychotic break” in Aspen, Colorado, when the socialite allegedly made derogatory comments about Richards and other cast members.
During the “RHOBH” reunion last year, Hilton defended herself against Rinna’s accusations and referred to the former soap star as “the biggest bully in Hollywood.”
Recently, Garcelle Beauvais, who joined the Bravo series during Season 10 of 2020, expressed happiness that Rinna wouldn’t be appearing in the upcoming season.
During Tuesday’s episode of “The Sherri Shepherd Show,” she remarked, “You know what, listen, I’m going to give her credit.”
She undoubtedly joined the program and left her mark, but new faces are needed now.
