Meghan Markle “hated” life in the Royal Family due to constantly being “told what to do” according to a royal insider.
The Duchess of Sussex married Prince Harry in May 2018 and became a senior member of the Royal Family.
However, less than two years after Meghan joined the monarchy the Sussexes agreed on exit terms in early 2020.
Meghan and Harry moved to California via a brief spell in Canada and have since launched multiple attacks on the Royal Family in public interviews and books.
Writing in his new book Gilded Youth, royal biographer Tom Quinn claimed he spoked to a ‘Kensington Palace staffer who “remembered Meghan well”.
The insider claimed: “I don’t think in the whole of history there was ever a greater divide between what someone expected when they became a member of the Royal Family and what they discovered it was really like.”
“She was a global superstar but was being told what she could and could not do, what she could and could not say.”
They added: “She hated it.”
