There has been much speculation about the impending OnePlus foldable phone for months. There have been numerous leaks and rumours about the highly anticipated handset.

The good news is that Chinese smartphone company OnePlus officially revealed today that its first flagship foldable OnePlus Phone will be released in the second half of 2023. So, OnePlus lovers, how enthusiastic are you?

OnePlus, like all other smartphone manufacturers, is in the process of introducing new flagship phones. The highly anticipated first foldable phone from OnePlus has been in the rumour mill for quite some time.

Now, the corporation has made an official announcement about its forthcoming debut. OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu stated at the company’s MWC panel discussion:

“Our first foldable phone will have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. It must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects. We want to introduce a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market.”

Furthermore, Liu stated that the foldable phone will be the size of a book. This suggests it will be more like the Galaxy Z Fold than the Galaxy Z Flip. The question that remains is whether it will be a brand-new smartphone or a modified/rebranded version of the Oppo Find N2.

The firm has yet to issue an official statement regarding this foldable phone. The teaser image published above from the OnePlus 11 global launch may be the best look we have at this phone, which narrows the launch timeframe to Q3 2023.
