If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showed up on May 6, 2023, for King Charles’ Coronation, they might not be welcomed with open arms. With the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell memoir, Spare, speculation is currently swirling around the Duke and Duchess of Sussex regarding their potential presence at the event.

The book was released a month after the Sussexes’ shocking Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries, which detailed their interactions with the royal family and their decision to resign as the senior working members of the family. Daniela Elser, a royal analyst, wrote in her news.com.au column that Harry and Meghan are in for a challenging period, not just from the Royal Family but also from British, according to Express UK.

“Harry may be the King’s son and the fifth in line to the throne, but now that he has turned his laundry list of family grievances into a very successful one-man cottage industry, he looks set to play much the same role as one of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie’s artfully perched chapeaus on coronation day – ornamental and nothing more.”

The Duke now only confronts an icy reception from his family, an arctic reception from Fleet Street, and an arctic reception from a British people who are about as interested in him and Meghan as a tray of flaccid vegan sausage rolls, she said.

Elser’s remarks follow South Park, a popular cartoon show, making fun of Meghan and Harry. The Sussexes are becoming into “figures of fun,” according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, as a result of the pair being made fun of.
