Anisha Ramakrishna of Family Karma announces her marriage after keeping it a secret for several months. In her parents’ Florida home, the Bravo star, 38, and Dr. Anand Tarpara, 36, exchanged vows on October 8 in front of 20 guests.
Ramakrishna explains why she chose that day for her wedding: “I wanted an auspicious day, and we have Diwali in our Indian tradition.” “Kind of like a fresh year for us. In Hinduism, October 8 marks the beginning of the year for us and all good things. We decided to be married right away rather than arrange a huge ceremony and then put it off for another year. I believe it changes as you get older. It’s less about the wedding and more about the marriage.”
The couple decided to celebrate their wedding in their own way. Because of our schedules, we were unable to perform the traditional five-day Indian wedding, said Ramakrishna, who divides her time between Scottsdale, Arizona, where her husband works, and the east coast. “Both my parents and his parents were furious. They still are, I believe.”
Ramakrishna does, however, add that she and her husband did include some customs in their special day.
She explains, “We performed a traditional Indian Puja, which is a rite including prayers and a priest. “I also painted my hands with henna. It was Mehndi Day here. The welcoming dance, or sangeet, and the haldi, which involves applying turmeric all over your body, are the only two items I believe I missed. I only completed it in a very private location.”
Tarpara and Ramakrishna first connected online in the winter of 2021 while he was situated in Philadelphia and she was based in New York. They spent their first date exploring Manhattan on foot, visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dining on Thai food, and finishing the night with a slice of pizza.
It was the ideal first date in the winter, she adds. “At last, we arrived to East Village Pizza. That’s a significant site for us, and pizza has always played a part in our romance.”
After eight months of dating, the couple moved in together, but because of their hectic work schedules, they decided to postpone getting engaged until April 2022. The plan was laid out, but it didn’t work out the way the host of the podcast Now Cringing had hoped.
“We had our first date at East Village Pizza, so I wanted him to propose there. He ultimately got down on one knee on a friend’s roof, and I was furious. I then headed to East Village Pizza right away.”
They started wedding preparations as soon as Tarpara proposed. If you discover the right person, all you want to do is rejoice with your close friends, but at that point, we had no idea who was accessible, and there was just too much preparing to accomplish in a short period of time, according to the bride. We only shared it with our personal family and a select group of friends.
Ramakrishna, who aspires to be a comedian, had little opportunity to examine her wedding gown before their ceremony in the days preceding their wedding.
Ramakrishna explains, “It was just a stressful week because I was in Turkey the week before my wedding organizing a girl’s trip. “The last time I truly saw my wedding dress was two days before the ceremony. With my schedule over the past year, I’ve been on a plane every other week, but I have seen films and footage. I find it to be stunning. It fulfils every expectation I had.”
Ramakrishna continues by saying that her spouse will avoid the spotlight.
She continues, “He is very private, and the performance is my thing. “I agreed to it when I signed up. I can only hope that viewers and viewers appreciate that not everyone signs up for this and respect it. When you’re single and meet a great person who doesn’t want to be on the show, it’s all in good fun, so for me, that’s not a deal-breaker. In fact, I believe I would be worried if someone requested to be on the show.”
Now that they are legally married, the pair is basking in newlywed happiness as they prepare for a significant celebration this spring and consider establishing a family in the coming years.
Ramakrishna claims, “We’re flexing on youngsters.” “If I’m being completely honest with you, I am not yet ready to become a parent thanks to the fact that I froze my eggs. I really want to enjoy this time spent with my partner and doing things, and if I were to have a baby, it might not come for another two years, around 2024.”
