  • Michael Mando was fired from a new Apple series after dispute with costar

According to Deadline, Micheal Mando, 41, was fired after getting into a physical argument with an unnamed cast member on the Ridley Scott series set. Wagner Moura has subsequently been cast in his place. PEOPLE’s request for comment was not immediately answered by a representative for Mando or Apple TV+.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that after making an effort to resolve the conflict between Mando and his co-star, executives decided to remove him from the role. On the AMC Breaking Bad spin-first off’s six seasons, Mando played recurrent character Ignacio “Nacho” Varga. He also has roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Elysium (co-starring Moura), and Orphan Black.

In Sinking Spring, Brian Tyree Henry and Moura, both 46, play Manny and Ray, two Philadelphia natives who had been pals their entire lives after meeting in a prison facility 20 years prior. After pretending to be DEA agents in an attempt to rob a house, the friends suddenly find themselves in a situation where their lives are on the line after discovering that they revealed the greatest drug organization on the East Coast.

Under his Scott Free imprint, Scott will direct and produce an episode with a story by Dennis Tafoya that is based on his 2009 novel Dope Thief with a script by Top Gun: Maverick writer Peter Craig.
