Kate, Princess of Wales, is mentioned in the new South Park series, which pokes fun at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
South Park, a TV comedy series, has mocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s claims that they want privacy despite signing lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify to publish content about their lives.
The series branded the couple “dumb” and “stupid” whilst also referring to Prince Harry’s autobiography Spare as “Waaagh”.
There is a segment in one of the South Park episodes that shows the character that portrays Meghan Markle walking across magazine covers that look like real-life ones that have featured the Duchess of Sussex.
This cover is not a parody of Meghan’s, but rather of a Vogue front page featuring Kate in the same outfit.
This appears to be a dig at Meghan Markle’s desire to imitate the Princess of Wales.
“LMAO even in South Park Meghan copies Catherine,” one South Park fan wrote on Twitter.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry issued a statement earlier this week in response to reports that they would sue the TV comedy series South Park.
According to sources in California, Meghan had become “upset and overwhelmed” by the series’ mockery of her and Harry.
A spokesperson for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, however, told reputed media outlet: “It’s all nonsense, to be honest. Reports that are completely unfounded and boring.”
The couple‘s official statement comes as sources tell the Spectator that Meghan “is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all” and that she has spent the last few days “upset and overwhelmed” by how she was portrayed in the series.
The Sussex statement comes after a royal commentator claimed that the Sussexes’ lawyers were “casting an eye” over South Park’s latest series after the show launched several attacks on the couple.
Neil Sean stated that the legal team was keeping a close eye on the series for any further attacks.
“According to sources close to the ex-royals, it appears that, as with so many other things with Meghan and Harry, this may have legal ramifications,” Sean said.
“Their legal team is investigating the incident to determine what went wrong and what could be turned into something more sinister.”
However, News stated that it had not yet been determined whether or not legal action would be taken.
