For the current eighth season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has scheduled an urgent meeting with the franchisees of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
After getting a hefty bill for PKR 500 million from the provincial government, PCB is reportedly mulling the option of moving PSL 8’s Punjab leg to Karachi.
The potential of moving the Lahore and Rawalpindi matches to Karachi will be discussed by PCB. This thought is motivated by a desire to save money. Sources claim that the Sindh government does not charge PCB anything for hosting PSL games in Karachi.
According to additional sources, PCB has already spent PKR 50 million on meals. The provincial administration put pressure on PCB to make the final 450 million PKR payment as soon as possible.
The crucial meeting will happen in Lahore tomorrow.
It should be remembered that Karachi was offered the opportunity to host nine matches. On February 26, the metropolitan area will host its final game of the current campaign. Multan Sultan will play the home team Karachi Kings in the final game at National Bank Cricket Arena (NBCA).
Starting on February 26, the PSL 8 action is supposed to move to Lahore and Rawalpindi. On February 26 in Lahore, the opening match of the ongoing competition will feature the Lahore Qalandars and the Multan Sultans.
The majority of these (11) games will be played in Rawalpindi this season. In Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the tournament’s semifinal and championship matches will take held. On March 19, the finale will take place.
