The UK’s Defence Secretary slammed Prince Harry’s comments about his kill count while serving in the Army.

Ben Wallace claimed that the Duke of Sussex distorted the fact that the Army is a team sport.

“I honestly believe that boasting about tallies or talking about tallies accomplishes two things,” Wallace said.

“For an infanteer to go over the top, that person has hundreds of people behind them, whether they’re in British headquarters or the Royal Logistic Core, who helped them get there.”

“It’s a team, so it’s not about who can shoot the most or who doesn’t shoot the most,” the Conservative MP continued.

“And I think if… that’s just my personal view.

“If you start talking about who did what, what you are actually doing is letting down all those other people, because you’re not a better person because you did and they didn’t.”

He added: “I think every veteran makes their own choices about what they want to talk about in their lives.”

The military community was outraged by the Duke of Sussex’s remarks.

A British Army Major told Media  that Prince Harry had jeopardised the Royal Family’s security by boasting about killing 25 Taliban soldiers.

Major Chris Hunter believes Prince Harry’s comments appear to have been written with the intention of increasing sales of his autobiography Spare, and that the Duke has forgotten the personal values he once held.

Hunter said: “The first thing that springs to mind was just how poorly judged his comments were and how embarrassing really.”It was very much a betrayal as well.

“All of us in the army swear an oath of allegiance to the monarch, to her heirs and successors.
