According to French government spokesperson Olivier Veran, the 50-year-old female instructor passed away from wounds caused by the 16-year-old attacker.
According to media, the attacker was a teenager with mental health issues who stabbed the teacher in the chest and claimed to be “possessed.”

“I can hardly imagine the trauma that this can represent, locally and more generally on a national scale,” Veran told journalists Wednesday, adding on Twitter that there are “no words to describe the tragedy.”
