On Monday, Ed Sheeran surprised young cancer patients and hospital staff at Brisbane’s Queensland Children’s Hospital with a heartwarming impromptu performance. The Perfect singer, 32, who is currently on a sold-out tour in Australia, stopped by the hospital to visit sick children and their parents.

Ed was seen walking through the hospital halls, greeting children, and singing duets with recovering cancer patients in footage from the heartwarming impromptu performance. Pictures from his enjoyable acoustic performance show children, their families, doctors, and nurses beaming as he sang several hit songs.

“He was very friendly,” remarked one of the young patients. “It felt like a dream. It was enjoyable.” According to a hospital employee, Ed appeared to “really want to be there” as he chatted with patients before and after the stripped-down performance.

“I choked a little. “I was stunned because he was right next to me, singing, and I was so nervous that I forgot the lyrics,” one bystander said. Furthermore, Ed has completed three shows in Brisbane and will perform two concerts in Sydney this weekend before travelling to Melbourne and Adelaide.
