- Those who believed Pink was disparaging her former partner Christina Aguilera.
- Pink claps back after she was criticized for ‘shading’ Christina Aguilera.
- She placed the music video last on her list of “favourite to least favourite music videos” during the interview.
Pink spoke with Buzzfeed UK, through People Magazine, about working on the Lady Marmalade music video alongside Aguilera, Mya, and Lil’ Kim in 2001. She placed the music video last on her list of “favorite to least favorite music videos” during the interview.
It was not particularly enjoyable to make, Pink said. She continued, “I am all about fun and there was like a lot of fuss. There were some characters. Notably, she left out Aguilera’s name, leading people to infer that she still had beef with the other pop diva.
Pink’s words were questioned by a fan on Twitter, to which she replied immediately, “You people are nuts.” “Xtina had s**t to do with who was on that song,” she wrote. If you did not already know, I am not “shading” anyone by repeatedly retelling what actually occurred. I have absolutely no interest in your f. drama drama.
If you have not noticed, I have been selling a little. “And by selling- I mean tickets and CDs and bake sales and s—,” she wrote in a subsequent post. Then, she added, “I also kissed Xtina’s mouth. I do not have to kiss her in the ass. In the early 2000s, there appeared to be tension in the recording studio when it was decided who would perform which vocal portions of the Grammy-winning song.
“Ron Fair, a label executive, entered the room. He said, “What is the high part?” without saying hello to any of us. Which part has the most singing? Christina will play that role, ” According to Page Six, Pink stated this in her 2009 VH1 Behind the Music special.
“I then got up and introduced myself. What is up? What a sweet gesture to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f–king meeting’s about.’”
