United States is considering banning Apple Watch

  • Apple infringed on AliveCor’s patent with the Apple Watch’s blood oxygen function.
  • Apple Watch may now be prohibited in the United States.
  • Apple use illegally could result in an import ban, preventing Apple Watch sales to the US.

An International Trade Commission (ITC) judge concluded last month that Apple infringed on AliveCor’s patent with the Apple Watch’s blood oxygen function.

This function, also known as SP02 in the medical profession, monitors the amount of oxygen in a person’s red blood cells. As a result, the Apple Watch may now be prohibited in the United States.

While Apple has been cleared of infringing on four other AliveCor patents, the one that Apple used illegally could result in an import ban, preventing Apple Watch sales to the US.

And only President Joe Biden can stop it. In order to accomplish this, Apple has increased its lobbying efforts to “extra high.” One hopes that the President of the United States will veto it. Today’s choice will be made.
