Tahir Baig and Kamran Ghulam led the run-chase after Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Amir handed Karachi Kings two early victories. Imad Wasim, the team’s captain, then made matters worse for the defending champions by deceiving Hussain Talat with a spinning delivery. Talat missed it, and Matthew Wade quickly toppled the stumps.
David Wiese, a threatening batsman who departed the field after getting only nine runs, was taken out by Aamer Yamin, who then scored another wicket.

The next batsman to bat was Haider Ali, but his time at the plate was short since Liam Dawson knocked him out after he had scored 18 runs.
