MULTAN: A court has dismissed the case of vandalism and protesting outside the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Multan.
Judicial Magistrate Marzia Ali pronounced the verdict and quashed the case during which PTI and PML-N workers scuffled outside the office of the election commission. The court ordered to release all accused involved in the incident.
An Anti-Terrorism Court had abolished the provisions of terrorism against the accused. Dogar was brought before the court where the police requested his physical remand for recovering weapons from his possession.
The hearing of the case was transferred to the Judicial Magistrate’s court which announced the verdict and dismissed the case. As a result, PTI leader Malik Amir Dogar, Mian Javed Qureshi were acquitted in the case.
PTI workers Adnan Khan, Saleemullah Khan, and Asghar Rokhri are among those acquitted along with PML-N leader Sheikh Tariq Rasheed, Malik Anwar, and Rana Ishtiaq Ali were also set free.
Speaking to Bol News after being released, Amir Dogar hailed the determination of party workers and said jail cannot deter them from their purpose.
“Jails cannot divert us from our purpose. Imran Khan is an ideology,” he explained, adding that the zeal and determination of party activists have increased even further.
He said the government cannot reduce the popularity of PTI. “Imran Khan is the popular leader of Pakistan after Quaid-e-Azam. Whenever election are held, PTI will be successful,” he claimed.
He said the government is afraid of its defeat and is using force. He said the entire nation has one demand that elections should be held.
A day earlier, Dogar was arrested alongside 11 other party workers from his guest house in Multan for rioting inside the election commission’s office.
Dogar was not initially arrested he was not suspected of being involved in the scuffle. Police later took him into custody after he insisted on being detained with party workers.
