Shaheed Lt-Gen Sarfraz Ali was a Pakistani army officer who had served as Corps Commander Quetta for over a year and a half. Sarfraz Ali was promoted to Lieutenant General in November 2020.
On August 2, 2022, he and his team were killed in a military helicopter crash. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the wreckage of a Pakistan Army helicopter that went missing in the Balochistan province was discovered near Musa Goth in the Lasbela district (ISPR).
The unfortunate incident occurred due to bad weather, according to the official statement.
When the chopper carrying army officials lost contact with ATC, it was on flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan (air traffic control).
Six people were on board, including Commander XII Corps Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali, who was in charge of overseeing flood relief operations in Balochistan.
