Qatar Cup: QSL to donate semi-finals ticket revenue to Türkiye earthquake victims

The Qatar Stars League (QSL) revealed on Wednesday that ticket sales from the Qatar Cup semifinals would be given to help Turkey and Syria earthquake victims.

“The initiative comes from QSL’s keenness to play its role in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility and to contribute towards providing a helping hand to the victims and the affected. Therefore, we invite all fans to participate in it by purchasing tickets and attending matches to support the initiative,” QSL said in a statement.

At the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium on Thursday, Al Sadd will play Al Arabi in the first semifinal, and Al Duhail will take on Al Wakrah in the second.

Turkiye has halted all sporting events till further notice as the nation marks a week of national remembrance.

All of this week’s games, which were scheduled to take place from February 7 to 12, have been postponed, according to the Turkish Football Federation on Tuesday.

This week’s earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 that were centred in Kahramanmaras impacted ten regions. 9,638 people had died as a result of the deadly earthquake as of Wednesday.
