Sarfaraz Ahmed, captain of the Quetta Gladiators, stated that his players inspire him on the field.
Sarfaraz told after his team defeated Peshawar Zalmi in an exhibition match on Sunday that he does nothing special as captain, but that his players inspire him and help him win.
“I do nothing special. My players take their responsibility and give me confidence,” he shared.
“We are like a united group. I know our performance in couple of PSL seasons wasn’t up to the mark. But, players now want to make a comeback and play strongly,” he added.
Sarfaraz and his teammates thoroughly enjoyed playing in front of their home crowd.
“I would like to thank Quetta people, the way they came and supported both the teams. We really enjoyed playing here,” he responded.
Sarfaraz was also curious about ‘Ifti Mania’.
“I have also heard about it on social media,” he shared.
“Iftikhar is here, will ask him what ‘Ifti Mania’ is,” he said.
It’s worth noting that after his explosive performance for Fortune Barishal against Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League 2023, Iftikhar changed his profile picture on social media, which drew a lot of attention.

It should be noted that the home team defeated Peshawar Zalmi by three runs, thanks to an outstanding batting performance by Iftikhar and some fine bowling by the bowlers.
When the Gladiators batted first, they scored a competitive 184 runs before holding the Yellow Storm to 181 runs.
