Islamabad police have issued a sketch of one of the suspects involved in raping a woman in F-9 Park after a case was registered.

A first information report (FIR) had been filed under Section 376 (punishment for rape) at the Margalla police station after two armed men raped young woman at gunpoint in the park.

Police spokesperson Jawad Taqi said the sketch has been prepared with the help of the details provided by the victim. However, the victim has denied assisting police in the preparation of the sketch.

The sketch matches 80% of the suspect’s appearance, police said, adding that it would be matched with the CCTV footage of the park premises.

The details mentioned in the sketch profile include that the suspect was five feet and 10 inches tall his aged around 35 years with a dusky complexion.

Earlier Islamabad Capital Police said the Special Unit Against Gender Violence is investigating the matter under the leadership of City Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chattha.

Police said people and park administration present at the time of the incident are being questioned, while DNA tests of the suspects are being conducted as well

Police added that evidence is being collected based on the cameras and intelligence details and the suspects would be arrested and reach their end.

In a horrific incidence, a young woman was gang-raped at gunpoint by armed men in a public park located in F-9 area of the federal capital.

The incident took place on Thursday night when two armed men approached the victim at a park in F-9, police have confirmed after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered.

The 24-year-old victim told police that she was walking in the park with her male colleague when two unknown armed suspects came and started frisking her.

She said the armed men forced them into a thicket of trees at gunpoint and then separated her from her colleague. The criminals then beat her up keep her quiet and then even prevented her from escaping.

The victim added that one suspect also asked her about the relationship with her colleague. The criminals slapped her when she raised her voice. The accused then placed a coat on her face and threw her to the ground.

She added that both suspects sexually assaulted her after taking turns. The criminals stripped her and threw after her clothes and managed to flee from the spot.
