Batman sequel starring Robert Pattinson to release in 2025

  • The Batman Part II will hit theatres on October 3, 2025.
  • James Gunn and Peter Safran are the new heads of DC Studio.
  • The DC Elseworlds slate includes Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux.

James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as the caped crusader in Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel at a recent Warner Bros press conference.

The Batman Part II will hit theatres on October 3, 2025, according to the new heads of DC Studio, although the plot remains a secret.

A new DC Universe being created by Gunn and Safran will incorporate the 2025 theatrical releases of Superman: Legacy and the caped crusader film’s sequel.

According to Variety, both movies will continue to be stand-alone works that belong to the newly created DC Elseworlds subgenre. During the press conference, Gunn stated that any movie not set in the main DC Universe will be given the DC Elseworlds label.

The DC Elseworlds slate of upcoming films also includes Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, which will be released on October 4 of next year. These films join The Batman Part II and Superman: Legacy.

Teen Titans Go!, a current animated series, and a new Superman film directed by JJ Abrams and scripted by Ta-Nehisi Coates are both in development. The Superman movie has been in active development since its first 2021 announcement.
