Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been advised against “profiting off their status” as senior royals following a decrease in popularity.
According to writer Carlie Porterfield said of the royal couple and Harry’s book “Spare,” “Harry and Meghan’s popularity in the UK has fallen since a lot of these projects have come out, especially Spare.”
Porterfield stated on the outlet’s YouTube channel, “I think that people are a little more sensitive in the UK to how members of the Royal Family -even if they are not working like Harry and Meghan no longer are – profiting off of their status.”
According to the expert, “What some people would say: ‘Selling their family members out to make a buck’. That is some criticism that has been levelled at them as well.”
This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle openly lambasted the royal family in their Netflix documentary Spare.
Prior to their documentary and book, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex avoided naming royal family members when discussing their life.
However, in the most recent attacks, Harry has detailed what happened between him, his brother William, and his father, King Charles, following his marriage to Meghan Markle.
