Eva Green responds to private WhatsApp messages ‘exposed’

  • Whatsapp texts that were read aloud in court.
  • It was described as “humiliating” by actor Eva Green.
  • She was still entitled to her $1 million compensation.

The 300: Rise of an Empire actor has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the White Lantern producers, claiming that she was forced to accept the role of the lead in A Patriot. However, in October 2019, the project was cancelled.

The Bond alum argued that even though the movie was scrapped, she was still entitled to her $1 million compensation.

White Lantern Film, though, intervened to file a defence against the French actor. The film’s production accused her of wanting to quit the project, making “excessive creative and financial demands,” and having expectations that were “incompatible” with the budget.

The court has already seen communications in which the 42-year-old described Jake Seal, one of the movie’s executive producers, as “pure vomit,” a “devious psychopath,” and “a liar and a deranged man.”

The claim made by White Lantern, according to her attorney, is “intended to depict my client as a diva to garner headlines and ruin her reputation,” she said in defence of her client.

Max White, a lawyer for Lantern Film, questioned Green during the hearing on a text that called Seal “evil” and instructed her to “get out” of the movie.

The Dreamers denied this alluded to her will to exit from the project. “If I really wanted to pull out, I would have asked my agent to do so in a legal way,” she said.

“Are you accustomed to simply lying in casual WhatsApp messages?” Mr. Mallin asked.

Green added she had a “very direct way of saying things.”

“I was not expecting to have my WhatsApp messages exposed in court, it’s very humiliating. Sometimes you say things you don’t mean.
