Katy Louise Saunders and Song Joong-ki are expecting their first child together after getting married.
The “Welcome Home” actress’s husband, a 37-year-old South Korean actor, was lauded for staying by his side and “supporting me,” and the couple said that their shared ambition was to “create a happy family together.”
In a letter posted on his official fan cafe website, Song wrote: “Today, I am greeting you because I want to share a promise that is more happy and valuable to me than anything.
“I have promised to continue life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and who I have spent valuable time with while cherishing each other.
“We naturally dreamed of creating a happy family together. We have put in much effort to keep each other’s promises, and we are sincerely thankful as a new life has come to us.
“And today, based on our deep trust and love for each other, we are on our way back from registering our marriage to begin life as a married couple.”
The happy pair is expecting a kid together, according to a confirmation from Song’s management company, HighZium Studio, to CNN.
Prior to this, he was married for two years to Song Hye-kyo, his co-star in “Descendants of the Sun.”
However, the couple—who played lovers in the TV show—announced in 2019 that they were ending their relationship.
Joong-ki declared at the time: “I want to leave the marriage amicably rather than accusing and criticising each other.”
In the 2018 film “Welcome Home,” Katy, a London native, starred with Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski.
