The militants of Taliban kidnapped 60 civilians in central Afghanistan in the last week.

According to the sources, The provincial deputy governor, Mohammad Ali Uruzgani said that The Taliban grabbed the hostages in the central province of Daikundi after a women escaped a Taliban-controlled village in a neighbouring province.

He added that tribal elders were facilitating to free the remaining civilians after the releasing of some 26, including women and children.

On the other hand a spokesman of Taliban has denied kidnapping of the innocent civilians.

It is to be noted that the Taliban signed a troop withdrawal agreement with the United States in February, which was designed for peace talks between Afghan government and Talibans.

Spokesperson of National Security Council, Javid Iqbal wrote on Twitter, “At least 42 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 105 others were wounded in the violence Taliban committed across 18 provinces in the past one week. Taliban has failed to deliver on promises of reducing violence against the Afghan people and working for peace.”

The report of United Nations also said that the attacks on 15 health workers and health care facilities during the coronavirus pandemic has raised the concerns.

While the Taliban has rejected both Afghan government and UN allegations.
