King Charles III’s new head driver revealed to be Queen Consort bodyguard

  • The new head driver for King Charles III has been revealed to be Camilla’s former bodyguard.
  • Mark Andrews was in charge of the Queen Consort’s police protection team.
  • He retired last year, but has returned to the royal fold following the retirement of Tim William.

King Charles III’s new head driver was revealed to be Queen Consort Camilla’s former bodyguard, during a recent reorganisation of Buckingham Palace staff.

Mark Andrews, who worked for the Royal Family for 20 years, was in charge of the Queen Consort’s police protection team until he retired last year.

Mark, on the other hand, has returned to the royal fold following the retirement of Charles‘ head driver, Tim William, according to The Sun.

“He is clearly trusted and highly regarded by them,” a former Scot Yard commander told the publication, “but there is the added importance of security, especially with the coronation coming up.”

According to the source, Mark is extremely loyal to the royal family and would “jump in front of a flying bullet” to protect them if necessary.
