Pakistan and Afghanistan are expected to play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in Sharjah following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 on March 19 in Lahore.

When Australia postponed their series against them due to alleged violations of women’s rights in that nation, in an effort to stand with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).

The current chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi, stated on Monday at a press conference in Lahore that the PCB was not interested in accepting the ACB’s invitation to play three ODIs; however, three T20 Internationals might be an option if the Pakistani government gave its approval.

“I spoke with ACB executives and we discussed the prospect of three One-Day Internationals. ODIs, in my opinion, would benefit neither of the two countries. We determined that, subject to government sanction, Pakistan and Afghanistan will play three T20I matches in Sharjah shortly after the conclusion of PSL 8 and before the arrival of New Zealand “He said.

The series’ proceeds will be split equally between PCB and ACB.
