Scorching heatwave to hit parts of all provinces during next 12 hours

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next twelve hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Thursday.

According to the weather department, rain with gusty wind and thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir, Potohar region, Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Peshawar valley, Mardan and Kohat during evening and night hours.

Dust storm with scattered rain is also expected in south Punjab, northeast Balochistan, and upper Sindh.

The maximum temperature recorded in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad on Thursday morning was 22°C, Karachi and Lahore 30°C, Peshawar 25°C, Quetta 19, Gilgit 16 and Murree 20°C.

According to the Met Office forecast, the weather in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla is expected to be partly cloudy with chances of rain-thunderstorm.

Temperature recorded today in Srinagar was 26°C, Jammu 28°C, Leh 8°C, Pulwama and Shopian 16°C, Anantnag 18°C and Baramulla 17°C.
