Man aged 31 arrested over baby’s death in Leicestershire

  • 31 y/o man was detained on suspicion of a death to a child.
  • He was later granted police bail and released.
  • Leicestershire Police advised not to speculate as enquiry is still in its early stages.

A man has been detained in connection with the infant’s death who passed away at a home in Leicestershire.

On January 15, emergency personnel were dispatched to a home on Sycamore Street in Blaby; however, the baby eventually passed away in a hospital.

A 31-year-old male was detained on suspicion of enabling or inflicting significant physical harm or death to a kid.

He was later granted police bail and released.

According to Leicestershire Police, a 32-year-old lady was also voluntarily detained for a cautionary interview in relation to the incident.

The force advised people not to speculate and stressed that the enquiry into the circumstances of the death was still in its early stages.
