- Andy Cohen hoped fraudster Jen Shah wouldn’t serve any jail time.
- Jen Shah pled guilty to conducting a statewide telemarketing operation.
- Shah had already been given a six-and-a-half-year federal jail term.
Bravo, boss, Andy Cohen was questioned about why, after “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah pled guilty to conducting a statewide telemarketing operation, he indicated he hoped she would not do any jail time.
In a sit-down interview with Cohen on Sunday, CNN’s Chris Wallace, 75, stated, “You’re on the record, last November, as stating that you hoped she would not get any jail time.”
And now I ask: Why would you support her against the thousands of victims she cheated, many of them were senior citizens?
Cohen, 54, whose own opinion made him wince, tried to clarify, “I believe I was hoping that she was genuinely innocent,” but Wallace quickly shot back, “She pleaded guilty!” Cohen winced as he heard his own embarrassing take.
That was before she entered a guilty plea, I would assume, wasn’t it? Cohen replied in an uneasy manner.
Wallace affirmed, “No, I believe it was later.” In July 2022, Shah amended her argument.
I see, truly. Cohen spoke while trembling uncontrollably from humiliation. “Oh, God. In either case! Wow, what fun this is. Though the reality TV executive insisted he couldn’t recall the precise “context” of his remark, he remembered viewers “demanding” to know Shah’s “status” on the program.
And I say, “The judge will decide. He informed the “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” host that Shah “done something awful” and that she “is about to get sentenced to a lot of jail time.”
Cohen agreed, saying, “Yes, she did. “Therefore, she ought to go to jail.”
You know, if you come to know and like someone, you sometimes hope they are not guilty of something terrible.
Cohen made the aforementioned remark in response to the subject of whether Shah would return for Season 4 of “RHOSLC” during an interview in November 2022.
Though her sentencing was eventually deferred until after the holidays, he added at the time, “I don’t know what to say to folks who want her on the show. She’s being sentenced on December 15.”
“I hope she receives no jail time at all and can return immediately away… but I have a hunch that she won’t be available to appear on stage.
The Season 3 reunion, which was taped last month, was missed by Shah. In October 2022, during BravoCon, she was not present.
Cohen provided a cautious—and cryptic—answer when a convention goer questioned him about why that was the case.
He responded, “I think it was kind of, you know, the end of, you know, engagement there, as we wrapped she pled guilty.
But because I have a lot of questions for her, I plan to sit down with her and speak to her at some point on video. Shah had already been given a six-and-a-half-year federal jail term.
She was spotted having fun with a party of 20 people hours later at a popular Italian restaurant in New York City. On February 17, she is expected to hand herself in.
