After walking the red carpet at the 2023 Golden Globes on January 10, the Only Murders in the Building actress, a steadfast supporter of body positivity, received a number of fat-shaming remarks on social media.
Later, Selena, 30, discussed gaining weight during an Instagram Live appearance alongside Gracie Elliot Teefey, 9, who was her date for the award presentation.
“I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,” she said, as seen in a video reshared on TikTok, before asking her sibling, “Right?”
Gracie replied, “Yeah,” after which Selena began laughing.
The pop artist talked while wearing her Valentino Fall 2022 Haute Couture strapless plum velvet gown with puff sleeves and a lengthy train.
Selena was nominated for her first Golden Globe at the ceremony for her portrayal of Mabel Mora in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Selena won the award for best actress in a television series, comedy, or musical.
