In France, a man has been charged with attempted murder after seven people were hurt by a metal hook at the Gare du Nord station in Paris last week, according to authorities.

According to prosecutor Laure Beccuau, the motive for the attack is yet unknown to investigators.

The identification of the 31-year-old suspect has not yet been formally determined, she continued.

While the inquiry is ongoing, he is being detained.

After being shot and injured during his arrest, the suspect was rushed to the hospital, but his condition had sufficiently improved for him to be put back into jail and placed under formal investigation.
