  • The 25-year-old Euphoria actress will make her stage debut as Audrey in the Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway revival.
  • She will play the part of Tony Award winner Lena Hall, who exits from the production.
  • Apatow had the opportunity to fully showcase her acting prowess in Euphoria’s second season.

Maude Apatow is transitioning from playing a fictional character in Euphoria to a real-life production. The 25-year-old Euphoria actress will make her stage debut as Audrey in the Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway revival. She will play the part of Tony Award winner Lena Hall, who exits from the production on February 5, from February 7 to April 2.

“I’ve long admired Maude for the emotional maturity and openness she showed on screen and on television. She fits Audrey well, “Director of Little Shop of Horrors Michael Mayer stated in a press statement.

Apatow had roles in Hollywood, Girls, and The King of Staten Island, but she is best known for her role as Lexi Howard in the HBO drama Euphoria.

It delighted Mayer to learn that Little Shop served as her introduction to acting as a child and that this performance will serve as her professional stage debut. We are overjoyed that she will contribute to the Little Shop heritage.

Producer of Little Shop of Horrors Robert Ahrens remarked, “We are ecstatic to welcome another outstanding talent to the program. We can’t wait to witness Maude, who has a stunning voice and a ton of skill, shine on stage with Matt Doyle’s superb performance as Seymour.”

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder’s Bryce Pinkham and Something Rotten’s Brad Oscar also appear on the program.

With her character appearing in more episodes and taking a more major role in several plotlines, Apatow had the opportunity to fully showcase her acting prowess in Euphoria’s second season.

Her character Lexi creates a play that mirrors the lives of other characters on the show, such as Rue and Cassie, played by Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, respectively, in one particular multi-episode arc.

Apatow, the daughter of actor Leslie Mann and director Judd Apatow, expressed her surprise at the show’s popularity in a joint interview with Sweeney in April.

“When we started, we were like, ‘Is anyone even going to watch it?'” recalled Apatow, to which Sweeney added, “We all just knew that we were making something really special together.”

The actors who play the sisters in the movie Euphoria, Apatow and Sweeney, said in a press interview that they found something wonderful in each other as well as in the movie.

“It’s surprising that we are able to create the friendship,” Sweeney says. “It’s so hard, not just as girls, to have friendships in our industry because we’re constantly traveling and moving from one project to another. You don’t have that much time to really nurture a friendship. With Euphoria, we spend so much time together.”

Apatow agrees: “We’re so lucky we work on a show that we’re proud of and like to work on.”
