The Sindh government has immediately revoked permission to set up cattle markets across the province.
According to details, permission to set up cattle markets for Eid-ul-Adha in Sindh was given a week ago.
A letter issued by the local government department did not give any reason for the move, but it is believed that the decision was given in view of the lack of biosecurity measures at cattle markets in Sindh during the week and the growing number of cases of coronavirus in the province.
Local Government Secretary Roshan Sheikh said that Cattle markets cannot be allowed in view of the growing corona virus in the province.
It should be noted that on Eid-ul-Adha, the provincial government in Sindh had given permission to set up a cattle market with SOPs but now the decision has been changed.
The Sindh Local Government Department had prepared SOPs for cattle markets that would allow trade in cattle markets within the limits of all town, municipal committees, district councils and municipal corporations.
Separate lanes will be provided for buyers and two separate lanes will be made for traders in the cattle market while a social distance of 3 to 6 feet will have to be maintained during the sale and use of masks for those entering the market.
