Prince Harry criticizes memoir ‘spin’ and denies ‘boasting’ about Taliban kills

  • Prince Harry has denied claims that he “boasted” about the number of Taliban he killed.
  • His book Spare became the UK’s fastest-selling non-fiction book on Tuesday.
  • The Duke of Sussex has been promoting his book with a series of TV appearances.

Prince Harry has conclusively denied claims that he “boasted” about the number of Taliban he killed while serving in the British Army, and he has slammed the “dangerous” spin surrounding his memoir.

The Duke of Sussex, whose autobiography Spare was released on Tuesday, has come under fire for claiming to have killed over two dozen enemies during two tours in Afghanistan.

Protests erupted in response to Harry’s book Spare, which became the UK’s fastest selling non-fiction book on Tuesday after he admitted to “taking human lives” while serving as a helicopter pilot.

“So, my number is 25. It’s not a number that fills me with satisfaction, but nor does it embarrass me,” he wrote.

Harry has been promoting his book with a series of TV interviews with broadcasters such as ITV, CNN, CBS, and ABC in the run-up to its release, the most recent of which was on Monday night when he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
