• PM said world has trust in Pakistan
• He also hailed the country for pledges over $9 billion
• The premier also congratulated the ministers

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday said that the world has trust in Pakistan which is why have collected over $9 billion in flood aid.

He was addressing a press conference upon return from Geneva when said that the session remained extremely successful and the government was able to collect aid for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.

He also hailed the world for stepping forward and pledging over $9 billion for Pakistan. The premier also congratulated the ministers terming the success fruit of their hard work.

While shedding light on the pledges, he said, “Islamic Development Bank promised $4.2 billion, World Bank $2 billion, Saudi Arab $1 billion, Asian Infrastructure Development Bank $1 billion, Asian Development Bank $500 million, USAID $100 million, China $100 million, Italy €23 million, Japan $77 million, Qatar $25 million, UK £36 million, and France $10 million.”

Shehbaz Sharif also vowed transparency and said that the government will spend every single penny on the prosperity of the nation.
About his upcoming visit to the UAE, Shehbaz Sharif said he is visiting the Gulf state tomorrow and expressed confidence that it will help further augment bilateral relations between the two countries.

While slamming PTI, he said that the opponents did propaganda but the UN had no doubts about the incumbent government which is why the pledges were announced.
