DUBAI: Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir met United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The meeting was held at the Za’abeel Palace in the presence of Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Muhammed bin Rashid congratulated General Asim Munir on his appointment as the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan and wished him the best in the new role. General Munir expressed his gratitude to the Dubai Ruler for his wishes.

The meeting discussed the strong cooperation between the UAE and Pakistan in defence and military affairs and explored opportunities to strengthen these ties in ways that serve the common interests of the two countries.

Earlier COAS General Asim Munir called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, the UAE President felicitated General Asim Munir on his appointment as the chief of the army and wished him luck in his new duties to serve his country and people.

The meeting was held at Qasr Al Shati Palace and the two sides reviewed cooperation relations and joint work between the UAE and Pakistan in defence and military affairs.

The underscored ways strengthen common interests of the two friendly countries were also underscored. COAS Munir expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President.
