Since I was a small lad, having a large family has been my only goal, he wrote in the caption of the photo. “I appreciate Nik offering that to me. Round two is about to begin.

“Thank you thank you to this extraordinary human for the gift of life and love, for being the best mother ever, and for working so arduously to realize aspirations,’ he continued. I could not believe what I was seeing through that viewfinder when I was capturing this picture. There is nothing more lovely.

The 44-year-old asked everyone to in the final paragraph of the message.

Reed also shared the news on social media, saying they have been “dreaming, manifesting and praying” for this “gift.”

“As all of you know, I have very strong boundaries with social media, especially when it comes to children and what I choose to put out into the world,” the “Twilight” star wrote. “Thank you so much for honoring that, and for sending positivity and kindness and LOVE.”

She then added, “some things are too good not to share,” before giving Somerhalder photo “and baby cred ☺️.”

Even though Reed claimed she did not always envisage having children in her future, the 34-year-old and Somerhalder welcomed daughter Bodhi in 2017.

Shortly after giving birth to her daughter, the actress admitted that she was not sure she wanted children on Dr. Berlin’s “Informed Pregnancy” podcast. “I adore children, but I was not sure I wanted to be a mother. I was simply ignorant.

Somerhalder continued by admitting that in order to complete the deal, he literally “threw out” all of Reed’s birth control pills.
