At the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Monday, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the first One-Day International of the three-match series.
Pakistan chose to bowl first and held New Zealand to 255 runs before pursuing the mark in 48.1 overs. To assist Pakistan reach their goal, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan each struck a half-century.

Usama Mir, a leg-spinner for Pakistan, claimed 2-42 in this game, including the crucial victory over New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson. Henry Shipley, a pacer for New Zealand, is playing in his first ODI.
The most recent match between these two teams came in the 2019 50-over World Cup, which Pakistan won decisively by six wickets thanks in large part to Babar Azam’s outstanding undefeated century.
Their previous bilateral series (in 2018 in the UAE) ended in 1-1 as the final match was washed out.
